The Civil Service Commission (CSC) called on government agencies to step up their human resource (HR) management systems and competencies to achieve the nation’s collective vision.

At the 2019 Public Sector HR Symposium Media Briefing held 24 July 2019 at the Philippine International Convention Center, Pasay City, CSC Chairperson Alicia dela Rosa-Bala underscored the critical role of the civil service in attaining AmBisyon Natin 2040, which represents the collective long-term vision and aspirations of the Filipino people.

“Human resource is the catalyst to achieve the Filipino’s collective vision of a matatag, maginhawa, at panatag na buhay. The government cannot accomplish its desired outcomes when the civil servants are not fully capable, are disengaged, and lack a service-oriented attitude,” Chairperson Bala said.

Financial education will now be part of the Civil Service Commission’s (CSC) learning and development (L&D) program for government workers.

This was announced by CSC Chairperson Alicia dela Rosa-Bala during the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing with the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) and Banco de Oro Foundation, Inc. (BDOF) on 19 July 2019 at the CSC Resource Center.

“Financial education is crucial in building the financial skills of our government workers,” Bala said. “As the premiere human resource (HR) institution of the Philippine government, the CSC is concerned with employee welfare and benefits. It’s good that we now have financial education to complement those HR concerns.”

Eight (8) government choral groups from Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao, and the National Capital Region emerged as the finalists of the Civil Service Commission’s (CSC) 2019 Government Choral Competition (GCC). The fun run also seeks to raise awareness on the importance of holistic wellness, provide a venue for interaction among public servants, encourage friendly competition, and foster camaraderie.
