The Civil Service Commission (CSC) recently conducted a two-day Executive Committee (ExeCom) Meeting on 20 and 21 July 2023 at the CSC Central Office in Quezon City.

The conference, led by CSC Chairperson Karlo Nograles, Commissioners Aileen Lourdes Lizada, and Ryan Alvin Acosta, aimed to assess the agency's progress toward 2023 targets, propose operational improvements, and identify development opportunities in the new normal.

“This mid-year strategic assessment and planning is an opportunity to look at our programs to get the affairs of the Philippine civil service in order. If we look at our main strategic program outcomes of capacitating and empowering public sector organizations, professionalizing and empowering human resources in the civil service, and efficiently and effectively dispensing administrative justice—are they rational and realistic to achieve set goals?” said Chairperson Nograles.

The Civil Service Commission (CSC) invites all government officials and employees to register and participate in the bloodletting activity scheduled for 19 to 21 September 2023 in Metro Manila, and on various dates nationwide.

The bloodletting activity dubbed “Dugtong Buhay, Handog ng Lingkod Bayan” aims to address the constant need for regular supply of blood while providing an opportunity for volunteerism and collaboration among state workers. This initiative is organized by the CSC Human Resource Relations Office in collaboration with the Department of Health-Philippine Blood Center and SM Supermalls.

“As public servants, participating in this voluntary blood drive is another tangible way to serve and make a difference in the lives of the people we serve. Our compassion and generosity to donate blood would mean life for someone out there who needs our help,” said CSC Chairperson Karlo Nograles as he encouraged all qualified state workers to join the activity.

The Civil Service Commission (CSC), Department of Budget and Management (DBM), and Governance Commission for Government-owned or -Controlled Corporations (GCG) signed the Joint Circular (JC) regarding the rules and regulations for granting night shift differential pay (NSDP) to government employees at the Boncodin Hall, DBM Central Office, Manila City on 01 August 2023.

CSC Chairperson Karlo Nograles, together with DBM Secretary Amenah Pangandaman and former GCG Chairperson Justice Alex L. Quiroz (ret.), presided over the ceremonial signing of the JC. The main objective of this JC is to extensively disseminate the guidelines and ensure uniform policy interpretation and effective implementation of Republic Act (R.A.) No. 11701 granting NSDP to qualified government employees.

“With the signing of this circular, we reaffirm our commitment to fostering a fair and equitable work environment in government. This policy aims to uplift the well-being of our government employees and ensure that their efforts during night shifts are justly rewarded,” said CSC Chairperson Nograles.

The 123rd Philippine Civil Service Anniversary (PCSA) celebration kicked off with an online forum on public sector dynamism organized by the Civil Service Commission (CSC) on Monday, 7 August 2023.

During the virtual launch, CSC Commissioner Aileen Lourdes A. Lizada shared an overview of the activities lined up for the 123rd PCSA celebration, emphasizing that the month-long event is the anniversary of the whole civil service.

CSC Chairperson Karlo Nograles emphasized the significance of cultivating dynamism among government workers as this year's thematic focus of the PCSA. The aim is to foster sustainable management practices and enhance organizational resilience in the public sector.

The Civil Service Commission (CSC) will kick off the month-long celebration of the 123rd Philippine Civil Service Anniversary (PCSA) next month by holding an Online Zumba session scheduled on the first day of September.

The event is open to all government officials, employees and their families, who are 18 years old or older.
