The Civil Service Commission Regional Office VIII splashed the kickoff activity of the 124th Anniversary of the Philippine Civil Service with the colorful "VibeRun: Takbo para sa mga Servant-Heroes” on 2 September 2024 at the New Provincial Capitol Grounds in Palo, Leyte.

Demonstrating the commitment of government workers to give back to the community, the Civil Service Commission Regional Office VIII once again conducted the Medical Mission: Medical Relief for the Underprivileged at the Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office VIII Regional Rehabilitation Center for Youth, Tanauan, Leyte on 29 August 2024.
A total of forty (40) beneficiaries of the DSWD FO VIII RRCY received the much-needed healthcare services with free dental services at the forefront, offering free dental check-ups, tooth extractions, and oral prophylaxis.
In addition to providing dental and medical treatments, the medical mission also included a lecture on oral hygiene to raise awareness about proper dental care and promote long-term health among the beneficiaries.
To support the aim to extend healthcare services to beneficiaries, the medical mission was made possible through a partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office VIII, Eastern Visayas Medical Center, Department of Health Eastern Visayas Center for Health and Development, the Department of Education Regional Office VIII, and the Municipal Government of Tanauan, Leyte.
The Medical Mission: Medical Relief for the Underprivileged is one of the major activities for Week 2: Linggo ng Malasakit sa Kapwa, in celebration of the 124th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary.
