The Civil Service Commission (CSC) is accepting nominations to the 2019 Search for Outstanding Government Workers. Deadline of submission of nominations is on March 31.

The awards to be given out are the highest and most coveted recognition given by the government to individuals or group of individuals who have excelled or shown utmost dedication and commitment in public service.

All government workers in the career and non-career service, including elective and appointive barangay officials and employees subject to certain conditions, may be nominated. Employees who are under job order, contract of service, and extension of service are excluded from the coverage of the program.

There are three award categories under the Search: the Presidential Lingkod Bayan (PLB), the Outstanding Public Officials and Employees or Dangal ng Bayan (DnB), and the CSC Pagasa.

The PLB Award is conferred on an individual or group of five (5) members for exceptional or extraordinary contributions that had nationwide impact. The CSC Pagasa Award is conferred on an individual or group of five (5) members for outstanding contributions that directly benefit more than one department of the government. The DnB Award is given to an individual for performance of an extraordinary act or public service and consistent demonstration of exemplary ethical behavior.

The annual Search for Outstanding Government Workers forms part of CSC’s Honor Awards Program (HAP), which recognizes government officials and employees who have displayed outstanding work performance and exemplary conduct and ethical behavior. The program aims to motivate or inspire government employees to improve the quality of their performance and instill deeper involvement in public service.

The Search guidelines, including the qualification requirements, criteria for evaluation, and required nomination documents, can be found in CSC Memorandum Circular No. 1, s. 2019 which can be accessed from the CSC website at www.csc.gov.ph.
