Motorists advised of road closures

Around 17,000 runners are expected to troop to Quirino Grandstand, Manila on 1 September 2019 at 3:30 a.m. for the R.A.C.E. to Serve Fun Run.

Serving as the official kickoff activity for the month-long Philippine Civil Service Anniversary (PCSA) celebration in September, the event aims to raise funds for the Pamanang Lingkod Bayani (PLBi), a program that provides one-time financial assistance and scholarship opportunities for the loved ones left behind by government workers who died in the line of duty.

It also aims to promote a healthy lifestyle, serve as a venue to interact with fellow public servants, and encourage friendly competition and camaraderie.

The event will start with a Zumba session and other pre-run activities. Gun start for the 10K category will be at 5:00 a.m.; for the 5K category, 5:10 a.m.; and for the 3K category, 5:25 a.m.

With the start and finish lines at the Quirino Grandstand, runners will make their way through the southbound and northbound stretch of Roxas Boulevard, with the farthest point at Le Pavillon Events Hall.

Thus, motorists are advised that the southbound and northbound lanes of Roxas Boulevard from P. Burgos to EDSA will be closed from 4:00 to 7:00 a.m.

Advisory to participants

Drinking water in small paper cups will be provided in seven water stations along the race route and near the Grandstand. Runners are advised to bring their own water container.

An ambulance and medical aide teams will be on standby for medical emergency. Portalets can be found near the Grandstand, and a baggage area will be open from 4:30 to 7:00 a.m. to accept small bags for safekeeping.
