ANNOUNCEMENT

FOR : ALL HEADS OF CONSTITUTIONAL BODIES; DEPARTMENTS, BUREAUS, AND AGENCIES OF THE NATIONAL GOVERNMENT; LOCAL GOVERNMENT UNITS; GOVERNMENT-OWNED AND CONTROLLED CORPORATIONS WITH ORIGINAL CHARTERS; AND STATE UNIVERSITIES AND COLLEGES
 SUBJECT : Philippine Book Festival

Pursuant to Republic Act No. 8047, s. 1995, the National Book Development Board (NBDB) will launch the Philippine Book Festival (PBF) on 2-4 June 2023 at the World Trade Center, Manila, and on 18-20 August 2023 at the SMX Davao.

The PBF provides a platform for publishers, writers, illustrators, and readers to come together and showcase their works, share ideas, and have a conversation. The festival will feature various booths from hundreds of publishers, and activities such as book launches, book signings, panel discussions, workshops, and exhibits. It aims to promote literacy and reading, encourage the development of the Philippine publishing industry, and showcase the richness and diversity of Philippine literature and culture.

To promote public awareness in the observance of the event, all government agencies are encouraged to undertake the following activities:

  • Encourage attendance of its employees to the PBF; and,

  • Post and share the PBF collaterals on government agencies’ websites and social media accounts (PBF collaterals can be downloaded at bit.ly/PFB2023MediaCollats).
