| SUBJECT : | Measles-Rubella and Oral Polio Vaccine Supplemental Immunization Activity |
The Department of Health (DOH), through the Metro Manila Center for Health Development (MMCHD), is pleased to announce the conduct of the Measles-Rubella and Oral Polio Vaccine Supplemental Immunization Activity (MR-OPV SIA) on 1-31 May 2023.
The goal of this month-long activity is to prevent impending outbreaks of Vaccine-Preventable Diseases (VPDs) and the continuous rise of measles in the country by protecting children ages 9-59 months old against measles and rubella with the vaccination of one dose of Measles-Rubella vaccine, and 0-59 months old against poliovirus type 1 and 3 with the vaccination of one dose of bivalent Oral Polio Vaccine.
In view of this, the DOH-MMCHD is requesting the support of all government agencies in encouraging its officials and employees who are parents, guardians, and caregivers to prioritize the health of their children and bring them for vaccination on 1-31 May 2023.
Pursuant to Section 21, Rule XVI of the Omnibus Rules on Leave, special leave privileges may be granted to parents or immediate family who are accompanying their children for their medical needs.
