He charted and carried out a visionary course for the Philippine General Hospital (PGH) as a premier institution for medical service, training, and research. During his watch, the PGH computerized its systems, processes, and services; established the Pay Hospital; launched the University of the Philippines (UP) Varsity Wellness Program; completed the UP-PGH Access Hub as a Center for Children with Disabilities; and increased investments in research. His leadership and response to the pandemic is unparalleled as he remained at the frontline along with the rest of PGH’s Crisis Team in protecting the welfare of medical and non-medical staff, delivering the highest level of service to reassure the public of the hospital’s unwavering commitment to quality care, and increasing public confidence in vaccines.

Winners of the 2020 and 2021 Search for Outstanding Government Workers will be conferred recognition during an online awards rites to be aired on 15 November at 2 p.m. via the Radio Television Malacañang’s Facebook page and YouTube channel and the Civil Service Commission’s Facebook page and YouTube channel.
