The Bayugan City Educators Chorale emerged as the grand champion of the 2018 Government Choral Competition held September 18, 2018 at the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP).
The choir bested seven (7) finalists, earning them a cash prize of PHP200,000 and a plaque from the Civil Service Commission (CSC). They also won the Best Conductor (Prim Ross L. Eng) and Best Arrangement of Competition Song (Saunder Choi).
Other finalists were the City Government of Makati Employees Chorale who placed 1st runner-up; Dasmariñas City Teachers' Chorale, 2nd runner-up; DepEd Catanduanes Division Choral, 3rd runner-up; NSU Chorale, Best regional entry from Visayas; COA CO/NCR Choir; National Power Chorale; and DepEd Division of Agusan Del Sur Teacher's Chorale.

Twenty three (23) agencies offered more than 7,000 vacancies at the Government Job Fair held September 26 to 27, 2018 at SM City North EDSA Skydome, Quezon City.
Jointly organized by the Civil Service Commission (CSC) Examination, Recruitment and Placement Office and the CSC National Capital Region, the event drew hundreds of jobseekers that underwent initial screening for vacant positions, including 3,000 Fire Officer I; 2,000 Jail Officer I; and 777 Revenue Officer I positions from the Bureau of Fire Protection, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, and the Bureau of Internal Revenue, respectively, for deployment to various areas nationwide.

A total of 533 individuals was conferred the Local Treasurer Eligibility after passing the Basic Competency on Local Treasury Examination (BCLTE) conducted on June 24, 2018.
The figure, the Civil Service Commission (CSC) said, represents 17.19% of the total number of examinees.
Grace Quintana from Davao region and Jed Dares Tonogan from Western Visayas, both garnering an 89.73 rating, bested 3,100 examinees.

The online registration for the October 12, 2018 Career Service Examination-Pen and Paper Test (CSE-PPT) in Doha, Qatar is extended until September 30, 2018, the Civil Service Commission (CSC) announced.
Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) in Qatar who are at least 18 years old on the date of registration may apply for either the Professional or Subprofessional Level of the CSE-PPT.
To register, applicants must access http://erpo.csc.gov.ph/onlineregistration/user/ to create an account and reserve an appointment schedule with the Doha Philippine Embassy.

In view of the suspension of the Career Service Examination, Pen and Paper Test (CSE-PPT) for Professional and Sub-Professional levels in the National Capital Region (NCR) and Morong, Rizal last August 12, 2018, the Civil Service Commission (CSC) is rescheduling the conduct of the exams in the said areas on November 11, 2018
The CSC said that affected examinees from NCR and Morong, Rizal shall have the same school and room assignments as in the suspended August 12 examination. Said examinees are no longer required to register again. The CSC stressed though that no request for transfer of testing venue/school assignment, postponement, and rescheduling will be allowed.
The CSC reminded all concerned examinees that they are given only one chance to take the rescheduled examination free of charge. Those who would not be able to take the November 11 examination will have their examination fee and slot forfeited.
