CSC PIDS

  • It stands for Civil Service Commission-Personnel Information Database System.
  • It is a web-based system that will handle the records of all civil servants.
  • It stores and manages all related personnel information on all civil servants immediately upon their entry to the service and throughout their tenure in government.

PIDS: ITS OBJECTIVES

  • Provide Intranet Portal Capabilities
  • Facilitate the entry and processing (including approval) of the following HR related transactions:
    • Personal Data Sheet
    • Personal Data Update Forms
    • Action Notice Form
    • Appeal Form
    • Government HR Progress Reports
      • Leave Without Pay
      • Performance Rating
      • Administrative Cases
      • Assumption of Office
    • Personnel Services Itemization Update Form
  • Facilitate the entry and update to all Master Code and Look-up Tables
  • Provide standard and statistical reports
  • Provide Audit facility to enable view/ inquiry and printing of audit reports
  • Provide security facility to monitor and control users, groups and system forms and transactions
  • Provide an on-line user documentation which includes system tutorials, on-line help and user manuals

PIDS: ITS BASIS

Primary:

  • CSC Management desire to employ technology for effective and efficient human resource management in government.

Specific:
  • Thorough review of the CSC Business Model Report, the CSC-PIDS Terms of Reference and other system documents.
  • Numerous interviews and discussions with the CSC Consultants and the CSC Technical Working Group.
  • Generation and review of a CSC-PIDS prototype.
  • A 2 ½ day User Requirements Gathering and Validation Workshop with the CSC Consultants, the CSC Technical Working Group and key CSC personnel directly involved in processing civil servant records and movements.
